I miss lego

By Ana Escobar

I miss legos, even now that I am an adult I miss playing with legos the way the used to be; construction blocks, now they are too especific, I think, to stimulate the imagination of kids the way they used to.

Is like every box of lego nowdays is desined to build one thing and one thing only, the general rule is that the box is related or based on the movie, superhero, or cartoon caracter of fashion.

I know you can still find the basic lego box, but is in my opinion too dificult, opening that new box of legos, not knowing what You were going to construct, letting your imagination work for it, is an emotion our kids won't have as often as We did.

Not only legos, almost every toy is like that today, I think every parent need to give their childrens old fashioned toys, toys that won't tell your kid wath to do, but ask your kid's imagination "How are we going to play, and who are we going to be today?"

The most powerful learning tool your kid has is the imagination, and it need to be used those short years it last, before TV, videogames, movies and media in general contaminates it.
